Mitt Romney said we need fewer teachers, firefighters, and cops. His campaign wants to make sure you know that he really means it.
It bears repeating: Mitt Romney does not believe teachers, firefighters or police officers are real Americans. Why else would he advocate for lowering their ranks in an effort to “help the American people?”
This is just another example of the right-wing belief that people who receive paychecks from the public sector are not real jobs — despite the fact that without all of these public-sector layoffs over the last three years, the unemployment rate would be a full percentage point lower.
A job is a job, regardless of where a person’s salary comes from. I find it ironic that GOPers claim public-sector jobs aren’t worthwhile, considering their income is funded by taxpayers.
Then again, it’s not like they actually work, so maybe that’s the basis for their hateful, unpatriotic claims.
